We are looking for two (2) Recycle Depot Operators to join our team to assist us with the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our Recycle Depot.

What you’ll be doing

As a Recycle Depot Operator, you’ll provide an exceptional customer satisfaction experience by directing customers to the appropriate area of the Recycle Depot for disposal of their items and also answer any questions on our recycling rules, policies, and procedures. In addition to ensuring that the Recycle Depot remains clean and organized, you’ll also be responsible for delivering recyclables to our suppliers for processing. From time to time, you may also be asked to help out with curbside collection during planned/unplanned absences of any of the Solid Waste Operators.

Who you are

You have a strong work ethic and a desire to provide outstanding customer service. You’re a team player and an effective communicator. You have a clean drivers abstract and a demonstrated commitment to working safely. You are physically fit – able to lift up to 25kg and can stand for long periods of time. You have a tolerance for various weather elements – you’ll be working outdoors in various conditions. You have basic computer skills (MS Outlook) and the willingness to learn new initiatives and applications.

You must be able to work a flexible schedule. The Recycle Depot Operator is required to work an alternating 8-hour shift schedule:

Week 1: 8am to 4pm (Tuesday to Saturday)
Week 2: 11am to 7pm (Tuesday to Friday) and 8am to 4pm (Sunday).

Your qualifications

You have a:
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class 5 license
• Clean drivers abstract
• First aid or are able to obtain standard first aid certificate in first six (6) months.
